The time is now to bring more electric vehicles (EVs) to Nevada, and we need your help! On July 28, the Nevada Department of Environmental Protection (NDEP) will be holding a public workshop that will decide whether or not Nevadans will have more options to buy an EV. Nevadans deserve the freedom to choose! EVs are not only better for the environment and air quality, but they also save money on fuel and maintenance costs.

Sign our petition today, showing your support for more EV choices and freedom in Nevada. We will be presenting the petition at the public hearing, and your voice will be heard! Additionally, you can show further support by attending the meeting online (details below).

More than 40 models of EVs are available in other states, while here in Nevada, we have less than 20 models available. With more choices available in Nevada, you can buy the EV that best fits your needs.

By adopting the clean cars program, including the zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) mandate, automakers who wish to sell cars in Nevada must sell a certain percentage of ZEVs or buy credits from other automakers who do. This policy means more makes and models of ZEVs available for Nevadans.

This policy isn’t just about more choice for people wanting to buy an EV; it also means cleaner air and less auto pollution for every Nevadan as we move towards a clean transportation system. The proposed new regulations will not require anyone to give up their current vehicle or choose one that does not work for their lifestyle or business needs.

I support Nevada adopting the Advanced Clean Cars program, including the zero-emission vehicle standard, which will lead to more clean electric cars on the road in Nevada.

Transportation is a huge source of air pollution in Nevada—pollution that is making our communities sick with smog, particularly in low-income neighborhoods and communities of color that have been disproportionately impacted by health ailments linked to vehicle emissions. As a resident of Nevada, I want more electric car options, as this will lead to reduced tailpipe emissions, cleaner air, and improved health for all Nevadans.

The Advanced Clean Cars program will contribute to Nevada being able to achieve its climate goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to zero by the year 2050. I support Nevada becoming a leader in adopting policies that will reduce our carbon emissions and electrify the transportation sector.

Electric cars also save Nevadans money on fuel and maintenance costs—dollars that can be invested back into local economies and small businesses in Nevada. And, electric cars reduce our oil imports, leading to improved national security. The Advanced Clean Car program is a win-win-win for Nevada.
